What were you up to before joining Kipsu?

I have worked in the multifamily industry for over a decade, with a wide range of experiences from luxury to student housing. Most recently, I worked for a Real Estate Development company and headed up their new development projects across the Twin Cities.

What are some things you enjoy doing outside of work?

I'm a very proud mama to four year old twins, who are truly my world. We're always on fun adventures, discovering new hiking paths, lakes, and parks. Outside of my children, I enjoy yoga and meditation, and binge watching documentaries.

What drew you to Kipsu in contrast to other companies?

The culture, 100%. It was the best interview process I have ever experienced and that spoke volumes to the people and culture Kipsu emulates. I was also very impressed with how hands on, Chris, our CEO was. It was refreshing to see someone so dedicated to not only the purpose of the company, but to his employees as well.

What were some things you noticed about the Kipsu team during your first week?

Every single person was so friendly and more importantly, genuine. I could tell that everyone really loved working at Kipsu and took pride in what they did. It really reaffirmed what my experience was like during the interview process.

What challenges are you looking forward to tackling in your work at Kipsu?

Entering into a new market comes with a lot of complexity, but one thing I knew for certain when I joined Kipsu was, our solution filled in a ton of gaps that has been missing in the multifamily industry. I'm looking forward to disrupting the industry and finding those innovative partners who want to come along for the ride!

What is your favorite Kipsu core value and why?

My favorite Kipsu core value is Go Beyond Together. Kipsu doesn't just talk the talk when it comes to hiring high-potential employees from diverse backgrounds. The great culture comes from unique and highly passionate and engaged individuals. And as someone who was brought on to head up a new market, I've always had a tremendous amount of support from different teams. We really are all in it together!

If you could pick any person for a chat over a shared dinner, who would you pick and why?

Thich Nhat Hanh, who was a spiritual revolutionary that brought Buddhism out of Vietnam and introduced it to the wider world. He had such a beautiful way of discussing grief and suffering, as well as how suffering and happiness are not separate. I'd love to just sit with him and absorb his wisdom.
