Emma Shiring joined Kipsu as part of our Entrepreneurial Leadership Rotation Program, where she will spend a year rotating among Kipsu's major teams before finding a permanent home. Prior to joining Kipsu, Emma studied Hospitality Administration at Boston University. Outside of work, you'll find her cooking and baking desserts! We caught up with her to reflect on her time at Kipsu so far.
What drew you to Kipsu in contrast to other companies?
Kipsu's product is what drew me into the company. As a former front desk agent, having Kipsu would have been a lifesaver!
What were some things you noticed about the Kipsu team during your first week?
So many people reached out to set up a time to get coffee and chat with me during my first week. I felt really welcomed that everyone went out of their way to get to know me and welcome me to the team.
What challenges are you looking forward to tackling in your work at Kipsu?
I'm really looking forward to being in the Rotation Program and learning an entirely new job every few months. While it seems daunting, I know this will help me learn about the company inside and out.
What is your favorite Kipsu core value and why?
"Think Customer First" is my favorite Kipsu core value. Everyone here goes out of their way to make sure the customers have a great experience using Kipsu.
If you could pick any person for a chat over a shared dinner, who would you pick and why?
I would share a meal with Ina Garten. She is my favorite celebrity chef and I have never made a recipe by her that I have not liked! I think she would also make an amazing dinner, so that's a plus.
