What were you up to before joining Kipsu? 

I was working full-time in higher education, specifically focused on creating an excellent student experience. This job ended at the end of May 2022 and the 2.5 months prior to joining Kipsu, I was bartending and was also the interim assistant manager of a pickleball club. I generally get a lot of energy from trying new things and working with people in a variety of different capacities!

What are some things you enjoy doing outside of work? 

I am a total nerd for pickleball and play as often as I possibly can. Otherwise, I love being outside in any capacity, be it on a walk with my dog, Grizzly, at a bonfire with friends, on a bike ride, or just laying in the sun. When being outside isn't an option, I love playing games with friends, curling up with a good book, and I'm also always down for a good thriller/suspense movie or show. Other random things I enjoy include: all things college basketball and March Madness (the best few weeks of every year), concerts of any sort, and crisp morning air.

What drew you to Kipsu in contrast to other companies? 

I come from a background where my work was almost exclusively in building and maintaining relationships. I was looking for a career shift where my passion for relationship building and desire for something completely new could merge. I was interested in the technology and software development world but I had always associated that world with being pretty far-removed from the relationship-building industry. Then I found Kipsu, where the tagline "We build relationships" sold me from the very start. The interview process alone confirmed this was exactly where I wanted to be: at a software development company aimed at breaking down barriers in building relationships across a variety of industries.

What were some things you noticed about the Kipsu team during your first week?

Goodness, there is really so much I could say here. Generally, it's clear how highly Kipsu values personality, drive, and curiosity. Not only are people friendly, they actually want to get to know you, your background, and how they can best assist you as a teammate.

What challenges are you looking forward to tackling in your work at Kipsu?

To continually give our Kipsu customers the the best possible customer experience so they can then give an even greater customer experience to those they serve in the customer's given industry. As an Onboarding Representative, that means consistently seeking out best practice procedures as I get the opportunity to coach a new property on how to best utilize the Kipsu product. I'm really looking forward to the opportunity to build relationships with hospitality-focused individuals from all over the globe!

What is your favorite Kipsu core value and why?

Easily Go Beyond Together. There are no silos or islands here - everyone is genuinely working together to continue to build this company up, by continually encouraging and building one another up.

If you could pick any person for a chat over a shared dinner, who would you pick and why?

Honestly, Taylor Swift. I'd really love to hear about her journey as a young star and how she made the decision to step away from the public eye while continuing to do what she loves (create music). I'm really intrigued with people who have made drastic changes to create a better rhythm for their lives and I would love to hear about her journey!
