What were you up to before joining Kipsu?

Leading marketing & communications at BETA, a nonprofit that works to accelerate the success of Minnesota startups like Kipsu!

What are some things you enjoy doing outside of work?

When I'm not writing, you can find me at a brewery, hiking, at a concert, or planning my next trip. Since overcommitting myself to a few book clubs, you can also find me trying to catch up on the latest read at a coffee shop. Honorable mentions: favorite sitcom is (shamelessly) Friends, been to four out of seven continents, and favorite winter activity is cross country skiing!

What drew you to Kipsu in contrast to other companies?

I heard about Kipsu during my time at BETA and actually had the pleasure of interviewing Justin Porter for a blog! The mission and company culture sounded awesome and this role combines my two passions: writing and travel.

What were some things you noticed about the Kipsu team during your first week?

I could tell I'm never going to be bored! Everyone made me feel so welcome, it made me want to come into the office every day — which is saying a lot, since I LOVE working from home. Being trusted with projects on the first day made me feel valued right away.

What challenges are you looking forward to tackling in your work at Kipsu?

First steps include digesting all of the information currently swarming around my brain! But once I'm on my feet, I'm looking forward to working with a larger team with experience in a lot of different industries and fields, and growing Kipsu globally.

What is your favorite Kipsu core value and why?

"Go Beyond Together" -- it's inspiring to work for a team that's simultaneously focused on growth while making sure the whole team is a part of it.

If you could pick any person for a chat over a shared dinner, who would you pick and why?

Joni Mitchell <3 Not only is she one of my favorite artists and musicians, but she paved the way for so many women in music, spanning so many genres. I also feel like she'd just be so interesting to talk to - tea on the 70s music scene? Sign me up.
