Evan Lundell

What were you up to before joining Kipsu? 

I was working for a startup called Stable Insurance. I was a senior software engineer and led a small team of engineers.

What are some things you enjoy doing outside of work? 

I enjoy spending time with my friends and family. Some of my favorite activities are playing games (board games and video games), watching sports, playing disc golf, and playing guitar (poorly).

What drew you to Kipsu in contrast to other companies? 

I've always been drawn to companies that focus on serving people and helping them meet their needs. I also really like the vision that Kipsu has moving forward.

What were some things you noticed about the Kipsu team during your first week?

My first day was the company holiday party, so I got a chance to meet a lot of people. I noticed right away that everyone was very friendly and welcoming.

What challenges are you looking forward to tackling in your work at Kipsu?

I'm looking forward to getting up to speed with the codebase and being able to jump in and contribute. I'm also looking forward to mentoring and teaching other engineers, as well as learning from others.

What is your favorite Kipsu core value and why?

Serve Others. I started my career working tech support in a hospital, and since then I've always felt the most fulfilled in jobs that were directly serving others and making their lives better.

If you could pick any person for a chat over a shared dinner, who would you pick and why?

Paul McCartney. I'm a pretty big Beatles fan, and he's my favorite Beatle. I'd love to hear some firsthand stories and get to know how some of their songs came to be.
