What were you up to before joining Kipsu?

I graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2018 and lived in Spain before moving to Minnesota in 2020. Prior to Kipsu I worked as a QA Analyst for Activision Blizzard on projects such as Call of Duty. Along with this I also worked as a Geographic Information Systems Technician digitally mapping natural gas infrastructure.

What are some things you enjoy doing outside of work?

I enjoy spending time at Mallard Lake, Wisconsin in my family's camper. Fishing, boating, reading and relaxing by the lake are some of my favorite past times. Along with this I enjoy video games, college football, history and hanging out with friends and family.

What drew you to Kipsu in contrast to other companies?

I found the workplace culture at Kipsu to be highly attractive compared with other employment environments. Primarily, Kipsu emphasizes community and collaboration which creates a much more enjoyable culture. Having spent two years working from home it was a nice change of pace to work with a team face-to-face again.

What were some things you noticed about the Kipsu team during your first week?

I found the team very engaging and friendly. I was immediately comfortable asking questions and motivated to begin helping with projects.

What challenges are you looking forward to tackling in your work at Kipsu?

Understanding the ins and outs of the product and learning how it functions behind the scenes are my priorities at this point. I'm also driven to be the best I can be in my role and excited to learn more about its requirements going forward.

What is your favorite Kipsu core value and why?

I find the value of Pursue Relentlessly to be the one I'm most attracted to. I think it fits my personality best as I love challenging myself and attacking problems head on.

If you could pick any person for a chat over a shared dinner, who would you pick and why?

A dinner with Leonardo DaVinci would be quite fascinating. Picking the brain of someone who is both inventor and artist would be eye opening.
