Before I joined Kipsu, I worked in omnichannel healthcare communications. Ranging from appoint reminders to payments, I was a product specialist focused on SMS-based offerings that sought to increase engagement while decreasing cost over the paper alternatives.
If I'm not at work, it's a pretty safe bet that you'll find me playing guitar or gaming on PC. To offset the cost of hobbies like those, I also have a side gig making and selling handmade leather goods at local markets. Well, all this is only true if my two dogs give me a break from throwing the frisbee (regardless of outside temperature).
There were two main boxes I was looking to check in my job search: a culture where I could grow and work I could be excited about. It was immediately clear that Kipsu was laser-focused on creating and maintaining a culture that keeps their talent around, and I was quickly drawn to that. As far as the work goes, Kipsu's product exists in spaces users will already be in, and Kipsu just makes that experience better!
Everybody at Kipsu is welcoming and excited to add new coworkers to the team. In just the first day it was clear that the wonderful culture I heard about in the interview process was a real, live thing!
I'm the most excited about meeting and beating the product challenges that new and emerging lines of business bring about. It is always exciting to be a part of something from the groundwork and upward.
It's hard to settle on just one, but Go Beyond Together is at the top of my list. Kipsu's drive to assemble a team of various backgrounds while having a common mindset is something I have yet to see in my career. A company can only be as successful as they set themselves up to be, and this value ensures that Kipsu has a solid base to launch from.
Without a doubt, that would be the late chef Carl Ruiz. There was a lot more to him than being a food network celebrity chef; that man had a unique take on how to live life unlike any other, and his deep enthusiasm for all things that brought him joy was contagious to those around him. I think his advice on how to get the most out of life would be fairly simple, yet it would still be powerful coming from a person like him - with the signature Carl Ruiz bravado, of course. Plus, the restaurant hook ups he could secure for the meal!
