Will Cooper recently joined Kipsu as part of this year's Entrepreneurial Leadership Rotation Program. We asked Will to share a bit about his experience so far.
Graduated from Saint John's University in May 2021 with a Computer Science major and a History minor. While in school, I worked briefly in the school's Maintenance department before moving into IT Client Services.
I like watching comedy TV and complicated movies. My favorite music genres are hip-hop and folk, with some occasional jazz or metal. I also enjoy cooking, weightlifting, hiking, and playing video games.
It's a strong company that hasn't lost its values while growing. It emphasizes their customers without forgetting to take care of its employees. That can be a tough balance, but the effort and results are clear.
They're incredibly cohesive. Each part agrees on and supports the overall goal, whether that be individually or as a team. In that vein, the parts support each other as well.
I just like problem-solving. Whether those solutions lie in developing new software or fixing existing bugs, my ideal comes down to making the solution as discrete as possible. The goal is to make people doubt there was ever a problem.
"Serve Others", since I believe if everyone supports each other, there is a lot of incentive to reciprocate that support. Those who belong to a serving community don't feel the need to be self-centered. They feel safe and supported anyways, so they have the room to be understanding and helpful.
My childhood hero Mr. Fred Rogers. I don't want to meet most of my heroes, but I believe that he'd be the most likely one to actually live up to my expectations.
