What were you up to before joining Kipsu?

My first job out of college was at a small tech company called Nagios where I wore many hats and was the entire marketing team for a time, then I worked for nearly 7 years at The Toro Company as a Digital Marketing Specialist learning more than I ever thought possible about grass as well as honing my marketing skills.

What are some things you enjoy doing outside of work?

I love biking, particularly pulling my 3.5 year-old Ollie in the bike trailer, but also I like to compete in the local road racing scene. It keeps me out of trouble and doubles as a means to indulge in some craft brews & spirits. Beyond that, spending time at the cabin during the summers, and spreading my borderline obsession with all things Packers and Badgers to anyone who will humor me. Bikes, Beers, Badgers.

What drew you to Kipsu in contrast to other companies?

Everyone I talked to during the interview process seemed genuinely passionate about their job and wanted to spread that energy to me in our conversations. That's something that's important to me in my career and it seemed like everyone at Kipsu was on the same boat paddling in the same direction.

What were some things you noticed about the Kipsu team during your first week?

I noticed the number of people who went out of their way to introduce themselves to me, tell me their story, and respond to my relentless questions was shocking, but also refreshing. They're not lying when they say the culture is palpable, but in a good way.

What challenges are you looking forward to tackling in your work at Kipsu?

I'm excited for another opportunity to make contributions in the tech space. Particularly in helping develop processes and strategies on the web. I'm also excited to further develop my skills in web management, analytics, and paid ads.

What is your favorite Kipsu core value and why?

I can't pick just one, but 'Think Customer First' and 'Never Be Satisfied' bubble up to the top for me. There are always improvements that can be made to a given process, and when you enact change with the customer's needs in mind, those improvements become exponentially more meaningful to the business and of course the customer. It's likely why Kipsu is grounded and like the motto says, they build relationships.

If you could pick any person for a chat over a shared dinner, who would you pick and why?

I'm going to be a fan-boy here and pick Aaron Rodgers. He's arguably one of the best in the world at what he does, and given that notoriety comes a lot of baggage. I'd like to chat with him on a personal level and get his unique perspective on life, success, happiness, and... probably have him sign a jersey or something.
